France is the second-largest country in Europe, and it is one of the most modern countries in the world (2;3). France is the most visited country in the world (4).
France’s natural resources include coal, iron ore, bauxite, zinc, uranium, antimony, arsenic, potash, feldspar, fluorspar, gypsum, timber, fish (2). Its economy is structured as followed (in % of GDP): services 78.8%, industry 19.5% and agriculture 1.7% (2017) (13).
France’s agriculture products include wheat, cereals, sugar beets, potatoes, wine grapes; beef, dairy products; fish (1). Its industries include machinery, chemicals, automobiles, metallurgy, aircraft, electronics; textiles, food processing and tourism (2).
France’s top exports commodities include machinery, heavy electrical equipment, transport equipment, aircraft, automobiles, beverages, textiles, leather, mainly chemicals, pharmaceutical products, plastics, fuels, wheat, sugar, wine, beef, iron, and steel (2;3). France’s top imports commodities include crude petroleum, coffee, chocolate, fruit juice, tobacco, cars, gas turbines, aircraft parts, packaged medicament (14).
France’s main ports and terminals are Calais, Dunkerque, Le Havre, Marseille, Nantes, Paris, and Rouen (4)

France was the United States' 8th largest goods trading partner with $ 82.5 billion in total goods trade during 2018. United-States was France’s 5th main export partner in 2018 (15). Florida’s top exports to France include Civilian Aircraft, Engines, Citrus Fruit, Printing Machinery, Chemical Wood pulp, Dissolving Grades, Beauty, Make-Up, Manicure, Motor Cars and Vehicles for Transporting Persons, Yachts, Row Boat, and Electric Storage Batteries. Florida’s top imports from France include: the aerospace equipment, perfumery, wines and other alcoholic beverages (6).
France owns 30 companies in Tampa Bay, about 7% of the Tampa Foreign Owned Companies (7).
The City of Tampa has formalized a Sister City agreement with the city of Le Havre (8).
